Digna is my best friend. I have known Digna for years now. We met at the Company where Andre and I met. I knew her before I knew him. We worked in the same department and since we were close in age we easily started a friendship. We would talk for hours upon hours every single day. We would go everywhere together, whether it was shopping, clubbing, restaurants or bars. We even took multiple vacations together. You could not see one of us without the other. We went through our stage of dressing exacly like each other ...so much so that the former owner of our Company used to mix us up. We even took it to the next level and wore the same dress to the Holiday Party( just in a different shade). We watched our kids grow up together and saw the tears, joy, fear and happiness that comes along with raising young children. At one point in our lives Digna invited me and Jayden to live with her. We have been through a lot over the years... births, deaths, breakups, sicknesses, graduations, promotions, birthdayss, engagements, success and everything in between but the one thing that has remained the same is our friendship.
Digna is the most driven person I know. No matter what lifes throws her way she has thrown back at life and came back stronger. She is a force to be reckoned with. A true survivor and hero in every sense of the word. She is my hero for sure and I admire her determination and strength greatly. She is the mother of two amazing children , Luis and Arianna. She enjoys working out and being fit in her spare time. Doug and Digna have been together for 11 years now and they have supported each other throughout the relationship. Digna supervises the Manufacturing floor at our job. She also has her beautician license.
Naturally, I want my sister Melisa as one of my bridesmaids. As my younger sister she has seen it all. She saw me get my first job, my first car, and now she will see me marry the man that I love. She will stand proudly near me as I kiss my husband and I know without a shadow of a doubt, she will be happy for me.
Michele' was one of the first names to pop in my head when choosing my bridesmaids. I was there for some of her Milestones in her life and it goes without saying that I want her at my biggest Milestone. I could not picture walking down the aisle without my sister being a part of it.
I met Carolina when my dad brought me inside of Gallo for the first time. He told me there was a bartender there that was very nice and always took care of him as a customer. I had just recently finished Bartending School. I met Carol and she was everything my dad said. She was extremely friendly and you could tell she was genuine. She hired me on the spot. Over the next few days she trained me and not once did I feel uncomfortable. Years have gone and went by after that fateful day. Carolina is now the owner of Gallo and I am still happily employed by her. I work at Gallo part time as my second job as a Bartender and a Caterer. Throughout the years Carol and I have developed a great friendship and I am honored to have her be one of my bridesmaids. I will never forget how much fun we had at Carol's wedding and her bachlorette trip. We took 10 girls to Vegas for a week and It was easily one of the best vacations of my life. Throughout the years Carol has remained sweet, sincere and humble as ever. She is always there when I need her and is very understanding. Carol is married to Sava and together they share the most beautiful daughter named Melina.
"I'm a very caring & lovable person. I love to share happiness and peace. I love to throw a great party. I love to entertain. I love to travel around the world. I love to enjoy a nice bottle of wine and a a delicous dinner if tis for 2 or 20 guests. I love the great outdoors. I love animals. I love the meaning of life."
- Carolina Bustamante
I met Ahna when I was working in Gallo. She came in one day to visit Carol and told me she used to work at Gallo. At one point she started working at Gallo again and we would bartend together. I remember many Friday nights where the three bartenders were Carol, Ahna and I. Ahna has always been a good friend to me and she will be there at a moments notice if I need her. She took me to my first (and last ha ha) mosh pit and she was literally my shoulders at Carols Vegas trip. Througout the years we've had some fun and crazy times. Even though we don't get to see each other as often as we like we both know that we are there for each other and can pick up right where we left off. She will always be my Ahna.
" I am 32 years old. I was adopted from Korea at the age of 5. I am an only child. I am very straight up and honest. I also have the tendency to be a wise ass. I love to laugh. I enjoy both going out and staying in. I like trying new and interesting things. Music is very important to me. It is soull therpay. I have a vast variety in genre. Food is very important to me too. I'll eat and try almost anything. I enjoy hikes, camping, cologne, dancing, concerts, bartending, fishing, the beach, perfume, makeup and shoes. I value time spent with family and friends. My friends are my family. I love my dog Hercy aka Hercules. I value happy and sad memories. I love honesty and loyalty." - Ahna Van Cleef

Date and Time to be determined
Our weddings Colors
We have chosen red as our wedding color. Red is a a very special color to us. Red was Tamara's ( Andre's sister) favorite color. Our bridal party will walk down the aisle wearing red as a way to honor Tamara. For us the decsiosn was easy . Red was the only way to go.
The Bouqet will be hand made by Akiko. On the bouquet there will be two tiny photographs. One will be a photograph of Tamara Stewart. The other will be a photograph of Donna McGrowder. They both are angels now in heaven and they will walk down the aisle with me towards their son/brother.
Our son Jayden is our whole world and our lives revolve around him. We pride ourselves on trying to be the best parents we can be. We try to teach him life lessons on a daily basis. He is taught to have proper manners, respect himself and others, make good choices , say his prayers and just genuinely be a good person.
Jayden has a very active social life and his activites include: karate, baseball, swimmimg, basketball, and Cub Scouts. He is very sociable and makes friends very easily. He enjoys all things that a boy his age would, his favorite being video games. He knows that he must maintain good grades and help out with a few chores around the house. His favorite activites incude going to get hair cuts with Andre and family game nights. He is very sweet and he loves his parents.
My dads name is Jesus Figueroa. He has raised me since the tender age of 1. He truly stepped up to the role of being a good father. When I think back on my childhood most of my favorite memories include him. We used to take endless days of bike rides to the park and anywhere else. We lived on our bikes and it is something that will stay with me forever. I used to drag him to all the concerts when I was a teen in my Boy band stage. He stood by my side while my girlfriends and I screamed his ears off as we watched the performers on stage. He walked miles with me through the rain so I could earn concert tickets and one time he even stayed awake all night with me in Manhattan while we stood on line for hours to get other tickets. He drove me and my friends everywhere in his car and he showed up to all my school events. He taught me how to change a tire, how to build a cabinet, and how to not rely on a man to do what others perceive as "mens" work. Basically he taught me how to hold my own.
I was my mother's first born. I remember a happy childhood and I was always close to my mother. She taught me how to read and how to grow a love for literature. She woud take my siblings and I to the library every weekend where we would read tons of books and earn prizes. I remember sitting with her for hours while we put together puzzles. She always had home cooked meals for us on the table at dinner. I remember as I got older and had my cell phone, I would call her a million times a day to ask her questions, get her advice or simply because I missed her. We would talk to each other at least 10 times a day especially when Jayden was born. She was with me coaxing me to push in the hospital as I gave birth to Jayden. Once Jayden was born she was always helping me raise him. She was also spoiling him but I guess that's what grandmas are for. She was a good mother when I was growing up and for that I will always be thankful for.
As I have gotten older I have become much closer to my stepmom. I travel to visit her as much as I can especially for important family events such as graduations, weddings and even some Holidays. She has been a very positive person in my life and lovingly opens up her heart and her home to me and my family. She knows how important it is for my siblings and I to have a relationship and she fully encourages it. I greatly admire and respect her for those reasons and more. I know I can go to her whenever I need to and that her door will always be open. I am forever greatful for her being such an inspiring woman who loves me as if I were her own.
Dennis is my younger brother. Growing up he was nicknamed 'Dennis the menace' as he was always hyper. He loved to talk and play and run. We had a good childhood where we ran, rode bikes, roller bladed , played tag. As he got older his inner talents shone through. My brother is a natural artist. He gets that from our father Jesus. He grew up to be such a resposible young man. He has been the manager of Sprint for quite a few years both in New York and in Florida which is where he currenty resides. I take the trip to visit him in Florida whenever I can. It's great to see him and hang out with him as "adults". I know when he is ready and decides to start a family he will be the greatest husband and father as that is just his nature.
What can I say about Melisa? She was born when I was 12 years old and what a spitfire she was. She came into our lives and we never knew what we had been missing. She was so adorable, lively, comical and rambuctious. As she got older her stubborness and determination shone through. I was with her when she took her prom pictures and at that very moment I realized how stunningly beautiful she had blossomed. Next came her high school graduation and I was right there cheering and yelling her name. I was so proud to be there watching my little sister graduate high school. By that point in our lives we were becomiing much closer and as they called her name to receive her diploma I felt as if they were calling my daughters name. I felt like her mom and I cheered her on and cried happy tears so thankful that she made it. Not only did she make it to grauduation but she went above and beyond by burying her nose in her studies. She quickly received her R.N.A and then the next thing I know we were at that Graduation. I know deciding to go into the nursing field takes a lot of studying, preparing and determintaion. My sister was so successful and quickly got a job upon graduating. She currently resides in Manhattan where she is employed. She is still going to school as now she is pursuing her R.N.
What can I say about my twin? My brother and I resemble each other so much. This young man is such a sweetheart. He's laid back, calm, cool and collected. I remember when I visited him when we were younger. We picked him up from school and drove to Checkers. Afterwards we went home and we played Nintendo. Just my brothers and I playing Mario and Duck Hunt without a care in the world. Years have passed and I got to reunite with Danny. He is so easy to talk to, it's kind of like talking to myself. He also gives the best hugs and I know we have this unspoken bond as silblings. Being around him is calming as he makes you forget about any stress you may have in your life. And when he smiles and laugh, I swear it's MY smile. We have the same chubby cheeks and our faces are covered in freckels. He's more quiet than his other siblings but I find it refreshing. I GET him. I undertsand him in a way that can not be explained. I feel extremely close to him even though we don't get to talk as often as we would like. When we do talk I feel comfort knowing that I found you brother. There you are. I was looking for you.
Michele is my younger sister. Her biological father is my biological father. Growing up at first I didn't know I had other siblings. I found out when I was young, perhaps too young to understand what it all meant in the grand scheme of things. I do recall meeting Michele' when she was a toddler still in her crib. I remember thinking how cute she was and I remember when I got closer to her she smelled like milk. ( As babies do). Those are my first memories of her. So as I said, I was a kid and I didn't understand this whole "sister" who doesn't live with me concept. So life for me went on. And then one day decades later on Facebook I receive a friend request from my stepmom. She said she has been trying to find me and wondered what happened to me all these years. She said she never stopped thinking of me. She said all the words I didn't know I was needing to hear. She was the reason I got back into contact with my long lost siblings. People wander why I love Face Book so much and that is the reason. So long story short I was reunited with all my siblings. We got in contact again when Michele' was a senior in High school. Luisa asked me one of the most important questions of my life. This one question changed all of our lives for the better. She said, "Sweetie, would you like to come to watch your sister graduate high school?"
I gladly accepted the invite and I flew to Tennessse ( where they were living at the time). I reunited with my siblings at my sisters High School Graduation. I was nervous to "meet" them as now we were all older and years had passed. As I sat there in the blazing sun, and they anounced Michele' Roman, I clapped and screamed and knew I had made the right choice. I was lucky enough to be there at one of her Milestone moments in life. After that trip we started talking more and I soon began to realize how alike we were. The next big milestone moment I flew out for (This time in Florida) was her wedding. I was so happy for her to be getting married to her husband who she adores. We hung out more during this trip and the conversations were easy and I felt like I was home. I felt like I fit right in. During that trip, Luisa invited me to spend the next Thanksgiving with them. That was a year later so we flew out to Florida again for Thanksgiving. I stayed at Michele's house and throughout the week we finally got the opportunity to bond like sisters should. It was amazing. She is amazing and I love my sister for all that she is, all that she was and all that she is yet to be. She is a proud mommy of two of the most cutuest kids----my niece Zaylee and my nephew Mason. She is married to her husband Zachary who loves his family and would do anything to make my sister happy.
Chris. My own little brother Chris. I remember playing Nintendo with him and playing on a swing set with him as a child. I remember him being so adorable and so full of constant energy. Years have passed and I got to see my brother again a few times. At first the moments were brief moments but this last trip I took to Florida was a game changer. He took us to a spot he likes to hang out at and we had such a good trime. I was so happy to finally be spending quality time with him. We had some food, a few drinks and lots of laughs. We also spent hours upon hours talking at Michele's house. By the end of the night I think we both felt more closer to each other than we have ever been. It was finally "our" bonding time and through it all I learned that I have an amazing younger brother. I guess you can say I fell in love with my brother that trip as I got to see Chris for who Chris is. About a month after I left Florida my brother Chris's girlfriend gave birth to my newest nephew, Christopher William Roman.

Their children names are Tamala, Samala, and Dario(aka Taj).Andre recalls how much fun they had at her apartment and he fondly remembers when Tamara took him to the movie theater in the City. He also remembers how close him and Tamara were. They bonded deeply when they both came to NewYork from Jamaica at the same time. They always had each others backs and their bond was unbreakable. Andre was able to confide in his older sister at all times. Tamara was a very loving mother and wife. Her husband Keno met and fell in love and the rest was history. They had two girls and one boy. Tamara was very devoted to them all and her children were her world. She made sure all her kids were kind to each other and she put a strong emphasis on their studies as they all attended private school. They were raised to be respectful and loving. Keno always made sure Tamara was protected and he drove her anywhere she needed/ wanted to go. He would drive her multiple times a year to Long Island so that she could visit the family. We all had many years of Thanksgiving at Andre's parents house. The most exciting part for most of the family was when Tamara arrived with the three kids in tow. They all brought such love and happiness to us when they arrived. All of our faces were transfixed with the hugest smile when Tamara and the fam arrived.
DeAndra or Dee as everyone calls her is Andre's sister. Dee and Andre were very close growing up. They played video games together. They stayed up late together and watched TV. They spent a lot of time laughing and talking. They didn't always get along as most young kids don't but the love was always there. Dee loves to travel and explore the world. She enjoys eating at new restaurants and experiencing new things. She is usually hanging out with her best friend Jenneil . They go everywhere together and they have a lot of fun together. Dee still attends church on a weekly basis and her faith is unwavering. She also works very hard and is always being offered the latest promotions at the companies she works for. I decided that Akiko was the one. I got her ring when she was at home sleeping. She bartends Friday evenings and gets home around 4 am. So one Saturday morning while she was sleeping, I told her I was going to the gym and I went to purchase the ring.I hid the ring somewhere high in our house because I know she is too short to reach it. Plus I knew she would never know to look there. I was a nervous wreck when we were going through customs in Jamaica because the ring was in my bag and I didn't want security to take it out in front of her and ruin the surprise. When we made it through customs I was relieved. Then we went to the resort. My plan was to propose to her during a sunset cruise upon a boat.I kept insisting that we go on the sunset cruise but she was resisting as she was in the swim up bar enjoying herself. I finally was able to convince her to come out of the pool and go on the boat. The problem was that she had one too many drinks and the motion of the boat had her feeling queezy. She felt sick the entire time and it wasn't as I had planned. But it all worked out in the end because we would have had "our moment" in front of 6 strangers. So the next day I asked her to go with me for a walk. I noticed a dock that was unoccupied over looking the water, where the sun was settiing. It was stunning and I knew this had to be the moment. It was unbelievably perfect. I knew right then and there this would be the moment that would change my life forever. I wanted to have someone capture the moment with my cell phone but there was no one around. I noticed a life guard and I went up to him and asked him to take a photo of us at the dock. He agreed. I then told him I was about to propose to my girlfriend. The lifeguard got extremely nervous at this point as he felt pressured. He kept asking me all these questions in a nervous matter. I told him not to be nervous and I convinced him again to take lots of photos. And then I slowly walked towards her. She was looking out at the sunset, taking it all in. Then she turned around to look for me. I was thinking, "This is it."And then I got down on one knee and I started to propose. She immediately started crying for what seemed like an hour. She truly had no clue. I was on my knees for what seemed like forever until I said, "Babe is that a yes?". She finally realized through all her tears that she didn't answer me. Once she said yes we sealed the engagement with a passionate kiss and a heartfelt hug. I felt so much joy and happiness that she agreed to be my wife. I grabbed her right hand as we walked and she happily squeezed my hand back as she stared at the ring in amazement.
It was completely unexpected as we went out of town for a family function. We stayed at my first all inclusive resort and I was really enjoying myself. The weather was perfect, the food was amazing and I was so thrilled to get to spend so much quality time with my love. He had been stressing that we go on a sunset cruise. At the time I didnt know why. I was wondering why it mattered so much and eventually gave in. We end up going on the sunset cruise and there were other people on the boat that we did not know. I ended up getting sea sick on the cruise. The next night he asked me to go for a walk close to the time the sun was setting. I agreed and we walked to the beach. It just so happened that nobody was around. The views were beatiful, the sun was shining, I was happy and in love. We decide to walk on the docks( Again there was no one around). And then he tells me he is going to have someone take our picture. He runs over to a life guard and after some discussions with him( which I couldn't hear), he runs over to me.I was standing at the end of the dock, while the sun is setting, looking at him, thinking to myself how I don't want this trip to end. I then start to think of how much I love him. At this point my thoughts get interrupted because he starts to tie his shoe. At least that's what I thought. As I am looking at him, I suddenly realize that he isn't tieing his shoe. I ask myself why is he on one knee? I think to myself no way. And then I realize he is holding a small box in his hand, looking up at me. My mind starts spinning, my hearts starts beating rapidly... I think I was in a state of shock. He then starts talking and asking me to marry him. I imediately look at him on his knee, look at the ring, see his lips moving uttering the sweetest words, I look at his eyes and I can see how much he truly loves me. And what do I do? I burst out into tears. That's exactly what I did. I stood there bawling at the end of the dock. And the tears won't stop falling. I cry buckets and buckets of tears for what must've been 15 minutes straight. He is still on his knees the whole time and then looks up at me again and says, "Babe is that a yes?" LOL ....
I stop crying for a second, I laugh out loud. And I say ,"Yes babe. Yes it's a yes." He puts the ring on my finger. We hug and kiss and cry and kiss some more. It was a moment that I will never forget.
Akiko and I were coworkers as wells teammates. I didn't really know too much about her but we shared a mutal friend. We bowled together for weeks and weeks. Eventually Akiko and I started emailng each other. At this point it was strictly on a friendship level. I was intrigued by how descriptivley she wrote her emails and instantly found enjoyment reading her emails. The emails turned into text messages and the text mesages eventually turned into phone calls. She was slowly becoming one of my closest friends as I could tell her things about myself in confidence. I recall our very first phone conversation. We spoke on the phone for hours and when I hung up, I realized I told her personal things about my life that very few people knew. I discussed my childhood amongst other personal things. I was very open to her but I knew I could trust her. She was different than any other girl I have ever met. She wasn't superficial. She was about character and integrity. She was unique in her own way and I found it attractive. She didn't care what kind of car I drove and how much money I made. She cared about me as a person. I gave her the real me from the very start. She listened to all my stories. I told her about my past; I probably revealed too much to her in fact but at this point I was looking at her as one of my best friends and so I was an open book. My feelings started to change towards her. I noticed myself wanting more - text messages, phonecalls, etc. I invited her to a concert with me to see one of her favorite artists, Usher. We had a lot of fun together and enjoyed hanging out. After months and months of us being friends, I finally asked her to go on a date with me. I took her to the movies followed by dinner at an Argentinian restaurant in Huntington Village. I was a nervous wreck the entire night. I had gotten her a dozen pink roses and I walked her to the door at the end of the night and handed the flowers to her. I didn't even attempt to kiss her as I knew I had to take things slowly. The rest is history. That first date was well over 5 years ago. I have spent every Christmas, every Thanksgiving and every Holiday with her and our son. I am so happy that I took a chance on the quiet girl from work. She loves me uncondionally and takes such good care of me. I am so happy to know that I found my life partner.
I met Andre on the bowling team at work. We had a mutal friend at work and that friend asked me to be on his bowling team. Ande was already on his team for a few years so I was the newest member of the league. That was also the first year they didn't win the champinship. He lost at bowling but he gained a wife out of it. I had never bowled before and to say I was awful was an undertatement. We would drink our pitchers of beers and all hang out as friends and we had a lot of fun. We developed a friendship and we would send each other emails. Then we would spend hours texting each other. One day he said to me we were beyond text mesages and he wanted to hear my voice. That was when the phone calls started. I do not enjoy talking on the phone but with him we could easlily spend hours and hours on the phone. We would always hang out in groups of his friends or in groups of my friends. It was a lot of fun and we were carefree. I remember one night when we were in the city with his friends and he reached over and held my hand while we walked. I didn't pull away as we were already becoming close and it felt natural. We went to a lot of bars and clubs and we constantly were dancing. It was a lot of fun getting to know him and he was extremely comfortable with me seeing who he was outside of work. He was also comfortable in me seeing him with his friends. His friends and I all got along which was great as his friends are very important to him. I recall we used to write each other hand written letters as well. One day he asked me out on a date. I said yes and I remember being completely nervous. He showed up at my door and we went to eat at a restaurant. I ordered food and when the food came out, I could barely eat it because I was too nervous. We went to watch a movie and he spilled nacho cheese all over his new sneakers. I knew he was mortified but he acted calm and cool about it. I had worn a new pair of high heels that night which I would later come to regret. He was also nervous and forgot where he had parked the car so we were walking around forver trying to find the car and my feet were killing me. He walked me to my door and handed me a dozen pink roses and he told me he had a wonderful time. Our first date had quite a few small hiccups but we have been together ever since, so something went right that night. He still gives me butterflies even to this day and I am so happy that I get to marry my best friend.
